Sustainability

Respect of land-use plans validated by authorized bodies

CBG exploits its resource with respect for management rules, legislation and the environment, notably:
  • Respect of minimum exploitation diameters
  • Setting up a low-impact exploitation
  • Material valuation during felling, lopping and bucking
  • Reasonable opening of roads
  • Mapping of exploitation monitoring
  • Monitoring and control of traceability
  • Post-exploitation monitoring
Land-use plan

Respect of Environmental and Social Management Plan

CBG limits the environmental impacts of its activities via:
  • Setting up protection of representative areas of forest
  • Setting up measures for low-impact exploitation
  • Respect of hunting legislation
  • Anti-poaching program
  • Supply of alternative protein sources (economat)
  • Hydrocarbon policy
  • Waste management policy
  • Valuation of exploitation and transformation sub-products

    Traceability / Mapping / Quality

CBG ensures the sustainability of its activities through perfect prior knowledge of the exploitation area and a rigorous planning of all its activities. Complete traceability is ensured throughout the chain of operations, from the tree inventory made one year before exploitation until transformation. Tracking maps of the exploitation enable total control of activities and maximum valuation of the resource. Permanent quality controls carried out at each stage of CBG's activity guarantee maintenance of the high performance demanded.

        Water and waste management

Water is a fundamental resource at CBG. Our Company places particular emphasis on the conservation of banks of rivers and water-courses during exploitation operations. Anti-erosion measures are systematically adopted.
CBG operates a waste management policy aiming to reduce waste production, make use of treatment sectors when they exist or otherwise to stock securely while awaiting their development. The technical summaries of the land-use plans for the FHVC study, together with the annual synthesis of performance monitoring are available on written and documented request from contact@cbgpog.com.
